VA resident artists Chloë Waddell and Julie Smeros have curated a variety of fun and engaging school holiday art workshops. Book both sessions in one day for a 9am drop-off, 4pm pick-up.
With a focus on process and fun, the artworks produced may not always be finished masterpieces but a representation of the experimentation and play involved in exploring new materials and processes.
Tuesday 27th June (for ages 6 to 9)
9am to 12pm kids ceramics workshop & 1-4pm kids art workshop
9am to 12pm - Kids Ceramics Workshop (for ages 6-9) - 12 places
This workshop introduces participants to some of the tools and techniques involved in making ceramics. Students be guided by experienced ceramicist Julie Smeros in making a sculptural ceramic object to take home.
All materials and morning tea will be provided.

1pm to 4pm - Kids Art Workshop - Cardboard Creations (for ages 6-9) - 12 places
This workshop will explore the fantastic, versatile and often overlooked medium of cardboard. Will you build a spacecraft? An interesting mobile for your bedroom or a fabulous mask to wear to your next fancy dress party? The options are only limited by your imagination.
All tools and materials will be provided as well as afternoon tea.

9am to 12pm - kids Art Workshop - Inspired by Nature (for ages 8+) - 12 places
In this workshop, we will be both making art in nature and using nature to inspire our art. We will spend the first half of the class across the road from the studio in Davies Park, drawing and painting the nature around us. On our return to the studio, we will take inspiration from what we have seen and collected to continue working with the same themes and ideas.
Students will have the opportunity to explore painting, drawing, photography and sculpture in this workshop. It is designed to be intentionally flexible and open ended to allow each child to find their own approach.
