Amidst the jewels of us; night series, features the original artwork of Jane Thompson, accompanied by the poetic voice of Veda Laferne and musical soundscape by Aiko Takahashi.
This exhibition asks us to consider the timing and order of our world; the timing and order of our day. Each painting is assigned to an hour of the day, inviting us to journey beyond what we know and what we think we can expect within the confines of our clock-driven day.
Featuring 12 corresponding poems and artworks (extracted from the 24 hour concept and publication ~Amidst the jewels of us~) the exhibition seeks to guide you towards the hidden trails and teachings of our days, inviting you to linger, expand, and connect to a more natural pace of being.
Part of the exhibition will be dedicated to raising funds for the Second Chance Program - a charity in support of women and children at risk or experiencing homelessness and DV. Thompsons artwork, ‘Enough Is What’s Left’ (featured below), will be up for auction throughout the event.

Artwork by Jane Thompson - ‘Enough Is What’s Left’
“When I paint, I like to capture a moment where anything feels possible; where the unexpected demands us to consider the answers we don’t yet know. This is the feeling I relish most, when I am relieved from the predictable and alive with possibilities… Both writing and painting allow me to indulge in this space”
